**The Position**
Utility Inspector will be required to use their knowledge and experience to ensure construction methods are in compliance with standards, adherence to the engineering drawings, monitor scope changes, review third party permits, offer technical assistance, and complete topographic surveys for third-party companies on a variety of projects throughout Ontario.
**Responsibilities**
- Reports to the Program Manager-Inspections
- Conducts field inspections, analysis and observations of telecom construction work in a specific geographical area with respect to the Clients contract;
- Receive training and development from Senior Contract Inspector.
- Receive daily work instructions, task assignments, follow-up and support from the Senior Contract Inspector.
- Preliminary visits to work site prior to construction to confirm scope of work and identify any job constraints or hazards.
- Inspection during construction phase
- Final restoration inspection ( including spring clean-up when required)
- Ensure projects are completed on time, control extra charges and monitor customer quality expectations
- Perform job tracking to ensure accuracy of billing.
- Resolve variance and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Document daily production/progress
- Ensure the contractor has all the necessary permits, permissions, and consents prior to commencement to work
- complete redline mark-ups of corrections/changes directly on the work plan so as-constructed plans can be produced
- a daily construction diary must be kept and provided to the client when requested
- Coordinate work activities with Program manager, Program Administrator, Junior Inspectors, Project Engineers, Municipal representatives, construction foreman and crews
- Ongoing development of Planview's methodologies to further develop operational efficiencies
- adhere to strict project budgets and client deliverable dates
- Other activities may also be required
**The Location**
Planview Utility Services has 3 offices - Markham, London and Ottawa. Our clients and their projects are based throughout the province.
