**THE ROLE**
**Accounts Receivable Clerk**
This is a temporary full-time (until approximately September 22, 2025) role at the County, with an hourly
Compensation range of $23.384 - $27.070.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Join our dynamic Finance Team! In this role you will be at the forefront of
Our financial operations, handling everything from processing invoice
Requests to managing accounts receivable.
You will also prepare journal entries to ensure our financial records are
Accurate and up-to-date. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing
Accounts receivable and help with inquires on property taxes.

The incumbent will undertake activities to the collection of revenue for the Corporation, including receiving all
And send our statements. This position is also responsible for responding to inquiries concerning Accounts
Receivable and Property Taxes. Lastly, this role will assist with the preparation of journal entries, account analysis,
Reconciliations and working papers.
**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE &
SKILLS**_ _
Education
- Grade 12 or equivalent plus an additional program of up to one year
Experience
- Over one year, up to and including two years of previously related experience and orientation, training &
Adjustment on the job itself
Knowledge/Skills
- Understanding of general accounting principals
- Ability to understand written or verbal work orders and instructions
- Very good communication skills (both oral and writing)
- Proven initiative
- Good interpersonal skills including ability to de-escalate negative customer interactions and resolve conflicts
- Strong judgement skills and discretion to ensure proper release of information and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A Valid Ontario Driver’s licence
- Technology Aptitude
- The incumbent must possess introductory and intermediate level computer skills scored at 65% or
Higher for Outlook and at least one of Word / Excel / PowerPoint to ensure their:
Documents,
- Use Internet for research,
- File management
- And/or require introductory to intermediate knowledge of department or division-specific software to
Accomplish job tasks
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
The incumbent is expected to but not limited to:
Timeline
- Process invoice request forms and issue monthly A/R billings and statements
Functional
- Accounts Receivable
- Perform ongoing A/R customer file maintenance and account reconciliation
- File information in both hard copy and electronically to ensure it is available and current
- Process A/R adjustments on account
- Recordkeeping
- Assist with tax billing and collection
- Verify bank deposits
- Monitor electronic debit/credit transactions contract and issues with payment terminals
- Assist in depositing daily receipts at local branch of Haldimand County’s bank
- Send arrears to collection agency or to tax section to place on property tax account
- Perform a variety of accounting tasks such as preparing journal entries, account analysis,
Reconciliations and working papers
- Provide input into the development of appropriate Accounting Services policies and procedures /

- Respond to inquiries from staff and customer account holders using strong judgement skills and
Discretion to ensure proper release of information
