Afternoon Shift SupervisorWorking with our client, a long-time entity in the housing market in the downtown Toronto area, we are hiring an Afternoon Shift Supervisor to work from Monday to Friday from 3pm – 11pm, providing support for the 24-hour housing program, located within the organization and adhere to the mission statement and policies and procedures of their organization.Benefits of the role:

Supervise a unionized workforce within the context of the Collective Agreement.Provide case management expertise and support to the Community Housing Workers on sitePrioritize and assign shift responsibilities and duties to team membersEnsure the safety of the tenants and the building through access control, overseeing guests, and regular monitoring of life safety systemsIntervene in crises, de-escalate conflicts and respond to tenant emergencies, including overdoses and the administration of Naloxone or oxygenEnsure adherence to Harm reduction policiesLiaise with Property Management and file work orders when necessary for repairsEnsure effective communications with other departments within Homes First Society as well as with external agenciesManage employee performance and perform necessary administrative duties such as timekeeping, performance reviews, etc.Ensure that all documentation is completed to agency standardsAssist when necessary in preparing applications to the Landlord and Tenant BoardBe able to work occasional weekends and/or evenings, when requiredBe able to fulfill any element of the Community Housing Worker job description on an as needed basisBe willing and able to carry 24-hour emergency pager on rotationOther responsibilities, as requiredQualifications:
Post-secondary education in related field or equivalent in education and experienceAt least 5 years’ experience working with people who are homeless, under-housed and dealing with addictions and mental illnessDemonstrated experience performing case management functions and ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentExcellent communication, organization and time management skillsSupervisory experience in a unionized setting an assetKnowledge of relevant laws, standards and guidelines;
including the Residential Tenancies ActKnowledge of resources and services available in the communityExcellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and organization skillsCertificates in First Aid, CPR, Crisis Prevention and Intervention an assetThe successful candidate will be required to work where smoking is present.Certificate of Completion of Homelessness Learning Hub’s Harm Reduction for the Homelessness Sector considered an asset
