Animal Care Centre Assistant

Job ResponsibilitiesThe main role within the Small Animal and Bird Department is to provide support to all company stores in a timely and professional manner. As Petland continues to grow, our job responsibilities are always evolving. The job responsibilities in this operational support role are as follows but are not limited to:
- New Animal Intake and set up
- Land Animals, Birds and Reptiles into our central distribution center in Sunridge Petland
- Develop observation charts for all our animals
- Separate and set up per species and behavior’s
- Provide feedback to the breeders on the state of animals during arrival
- Sign off and monitor costs on invoices, ensure all invoices are sent to accounting
- Ongoing Animal care and observations
- Ensure all animals are cared for at the high standard we hold
- Fully clean andstrip every animal enclosure every day and ensure all 4 basic needs are being met continuously
- Ensure all baby birds are being weaned appropriately and fledged correctly
- Ensure all observation charts are kept maintained on a daily basis
- Address any health concerns and work with vets to correct any issues in a timely and humane manner
- Develop and maintain a strict feeding program to be carried out every day for all the animals
- Operational support
- Packing and preparing animals for store transfers
- Ensure all stores receive and fill out all appropriate paperwork with transfers
- Be part in developing and implementing new policies and procedures
- Vendor Relations
- Maintain good working relations with partnered vendors, vets and breedersJob Types:
