**ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE**
Provides support for all Dining Services Managers working in residences managed by Verve Senior Living, across Ontario. Consults with the Regional Director, Dining Services in the development/continuation and implementation of new initiatives, standards, policies, and procedures. The position ensures the Dining Services experience meets resident’s needs and ensures team member satisfaction. Implements strategies company-wide to enhance the Dining Services experience, improving our ability to compete in the market.
**BACKGROUND/QUALIFICATIONS**
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in food and beverage, culinary, event planning in the seniors’ living, hotel/commercial and/or restaurant industry. Possess overall knowledge of food and beverage/culinary preparation and presentation. Experience at the Executive Chef/Commercial Operations management level is an asset. Red Seal or equivalent qualifications required.
- Previous experience in training and developing team members.
- Excellent English communication skills necessary.
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a properly maintained vehicle.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Ontario.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Acts as a resource to the Regional Director, Dining Services - Ontario, General Managers and Dining Services Managers. Supporting to achieve Dining Services goals and objectives that are consistent with the Verve Senior Living’s vision.
- As directed, travels to and works on-site in Residences to provide hands-on training, onboarding, and coaching to Dining Service Managers.
- In consultation with the General Manager &
Regional Director - Dining Services, may be required to work on-site in Residences to provide hands-on management in the absence of the Dining Services Manager.
- Assists in coaching and supporting the Dining Services teams to effectively create a great resident experience and manage cost controls.
- Assists in the menu planning process including menu costing, recipes, product guidelines and specifications/selections.
- Assists in making recommendations regarding appropriate equipment purchases, departmental supplies and purchasing specifications for food products.
- Assists in developing la carte/bistro menus with the chefs to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Assists in the evaluation and roll out process of the new Dining Services initiatives across Ontario.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships and utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others.
- Remains informed of market trends and introduces new food and beverage products to meet or exceed resident expectations, generate increased revenue, and ensure a competitive position in the market.
- Improves service by understanding resident needs, providing guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed to meet those needs.
- Assists with training programs for Dining Services.
- Makes suggestions for the development of Dining Services job descriptions, job routines, and staffing patterns.
- Assists in supporting residences with vacant Dining Services Managers while recruitment is underway.
- Assists with agenda and minutes for regional meetings and sends to Regional Director, Dining Services prior to circulation.
- Participates on other committees as assigned
**VQI**
- Participates in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program and recommends VQI tools and procedures related to Dining Services.
- Adopts best practices with respect to key responsibilities and ensures standards are continuously improved.
**GENERAL**
- Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System. This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills.
- Complies with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Completes all required mandatory training/education.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Regional Director, Dining Services - Ontario.
