The Articling Student will work on files in the following practice areas:
corporate law, commercial law, securities law, real estate, intellectual property, civil litigation, labour &
employment law and international law.Duties and Responsibilities:
- conduct legal research;
- draft memoranda and other legal opinions;
- draft legal documents, such as by-laws, resolutions, contracts, agreements, and court pleadings or submissions;
- be responsible for the carriage of simple files, appropriate for their level of knowledge and experience;
- provide support to lawyers on different matters relating to the operations of AIC Global Holdings Inc., and the conglomerate of companies;
- accompany lawyers to client meetings, examinations for discovery, and similar events to gain hands-on experience in the practice of law;
and - perform other duties as assigned.Skills and Qualifications:
Qualified to commence articling in July, 2024 in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society of Ontario, for a period of ten (10) months.Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others;
Strong legal research skills and facility using digital and online reference materials and tools;
Excellent writing skillsand the ability to draft clear, concise and persuasive memoranda, pleadings and other legal documents;
andstrong organization and time-management skills and the proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work.Qualifications:
