**About Apotex Inc.**
**Job Summary**:
The Associate Director, Cloud &
Infrastructure is responsible for driving the overall planning and execution of Cloud and Platform strategies including implementation of new technologies and innovative solutions. This role is responsible for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the Data Centers, capacity and availability and utilizing cloud first strategy.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with GIS Leaders, on strategy, governance and architecture. Accountable for the overall performance of the Platform &
Cloud Services, including physical and virtual Data Centres.
- Drive a Cloud First Strategy that focuses on reducing costs, supporting agility and flexibility while adhering to high quality standards that align to the demands of the business.
- Responsible for the overall program, maintaining and managing the life-cycle of all Cloud Platforms to mitigate technology deficit.
- Oversee the selection, acquisition, development, installation, maintenance and support of cost-effective Innovation and Technology Solutions both on-premise and Public Cloud.
- Focus on leveraging technology to streamline processes, accurately capture data and reports of key metrics and performance indicators in an effective manner.
- Develop and excute plans and roadmaps for product life cycle and migrating workload to the cloud.
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across Apotex and external partners.
- Negotiate with external customers, setting realistic deadlines, priorities and deliverables.
- Provide leadership in the design and operations of global asset life cycle management which includes procurement, contract management, repair &
maintenance and inventory management.
- Works with external strategic vendors as required.
- Recruit, train, develop and effectively manage the ongoing performance of their direct reports, which includes, but is not limited to:
- Ensuring their Job Descriptions are reviewed, signed and sent to Employee Services, annually,
- Reviewing and updating employee development plans, ensuring that all employees are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties,
- Providing coaching, feedback and recognition,
- Responsible to ensure compliance of team members with Safety and Employment policies (e.G., Respect in the Workplace - Prevention of Violence and/or Harassment).
- Performs all work in support of our Corporate Values and demonstrates strong and visible support of our values.
- Performs all work in accordance with all established regulatory and compliance and safety requirements.
- Incorporate cyber security ‘best practices’ into IT programs and systems.
- Participate and lead performance conversations with employees, including monthly one on ones, to connect on performance;
check in on employee’s progress toward achieving Objectives, offer support and remove barriers;
and, communicate and revisit performance expectations to reinforce and encourage high performance culture and a safe working environment for all employees.
- Utilize open, honest, two-way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.

**Job Requirements**:
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with managing virtual teams
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating and working with others across the organization in support of achieving business and technology goals
- Extensive experience in the design, implementation and support of business processes and systems that cross multiple departmental lines
- Strong empowerment leadership skills, allowing front line IT team members to make decisions as needed with the guidance of senior management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of Canadian, US and EU regulatory guidelines and agencies is preferred
- Strong knowledge of computer system validation is preferred
- Solid business acumen required in terms of both executive relationship building and budget/P&
L management
- Experience
- 10+ years in an IT Leadership role
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry preferred
