**Job description**
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Attend daily pre-shift safety toolbox meeting with chef, on time and in uniform.
- Complete and keep on their person a FLRA booklet during shift.
- Participate in stretch and flex.
- Prepare pastries, deserts, cookies, muffins, breads etc. on a daily basis.
- Prepare variety of convenience or pre-made items from the inventory like cakes, pies, pastries, squares, cookies etc.
- Preparing adequate baked goods for meal services.
- Ensuring an adequate back-up supply of baked goods for self-service throughout the day.
- Rotate/maintain self-serve products to ensure product quality/freshness.
- Re-stock bakery with raw materials on hand from storage.
- Assist with receiving and storing incoming supplies/stock.
- Provide 1st cook/chef with re-order requirements.
- Maintain standards of food safety and sanitation.
- Maintain cleanliness of work station, kitchen and self-serve areas throughout shift.
- Assist breakfast cook with breakfast service as/when required.
- Follow time management guidelines such as shift start and finish and break times;
task time targets as set by chef.
- Comply with all BIM (Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation) and QIL health and safety directives.
- Other duties as required and instructed by the chef.

Schedule:
- 12 hour shift, 3 weeks Rotation - Fly in / out
**Minimum Requirements**
- Must have 3+ year of experience as a Baker
- Must have previous experience working in a camp or mine sites.
- Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must have a food safety training with valid certificate.
- Culinary education or certifications can be an asset
- Must have strong work ethics and are committed to the team.
- Minimum high school diploma is required.
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
**Additional Information**:
- This position may require pre-deployment TB test, medical questionnaire, criminal back ground check, etc.
- Online BIM orientation as well as on site BIM and QIL orientations are required.
- Mandatory Uniform and PPE will be provided. It is recommended however that an employee bring their own safety (CSA green patch and orange patch for electrical shock) footwear as this is a very personal fit/preference.
- The baker is responsible to the 1st Cook.
