**POSITION**:
Banquet Supervisor
**REPORTS TO**:
Food and Beverage and Banquet Manager
**Summary**:
The Royal Canadian Yacht Club was founded in Toronto in 1852 to serve both as a yachting recreational club and an unofficial auxiliary of the Royal Navy in the defense of the waters of Lake Ontario. We are one of Canada's premier sailing, sports and social clubs, The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities:
our Island Clubhouse on the Toronto Islands and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto. With over 4300 Members, we offer extensive services in Food and Beverage along with Fitness, Sports and Sailing facilities.
**Responsibilities**:
The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all Members and Guests enjoy superior dining service while exceeding the Royal Canadian Yacht Club standards. This will be achieved through overseeing Food and Beverage services while ensuring seamless operations within the department. This individual must maintain a high level of professionalism at all times and adhere to all Club policies and procedures.
**Job Duties**:
- Perform administrative duties including billing, invoices, chit input, and staff scheduling
- Process and submit Banquet invoices to Catering Manager within 48 hours of an event
- Assists with scheduling and maintaining labour in line with budget
- Review Daily Guarantee Sheets and note any changes directly to the Banquet Event Orders
- Conduct daily meetings with service Staff informing them of upcoming function details
- Perform a physical review of Banquet space to ensure the proper set-up and working order of all audio-visual equipment no later than 30 minutes prior to the start time of an event
- Meet, greet, and remain with the convener of an event to provide assistance
- Assign duties to service Staff
- Review function package for upcoming week, devise a strategy to execute events
- Provide continuous communication with the Kitchen regarding the status of an event
- Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Club
**Requirements**:
- Hospitality and/or Food and Beverage Diploma preferred
- Minimum 2 years working experience in Banquets
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Solution-oriented approach to dealing will issues
- Strong team building skills
- Service-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Must hold valid Smart Serve certification
**HOURS OF WORK**:
- Must be able to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays as well as various shifts (days &
evenings)
- Able towork at both RCYC locations (141 St. George &
on the Island
- launch at 150 Cherry St)
