A fast-growing social enterprise headquartered in Montreal is creating greener cities and more connected communities in 40 cities around the world. This organization, a certified B Corporation and member of 1% for the Planet offers turnkey solutions that are rooted in nature, such as the installation of beehives, habitats, and gardens for pollinators, as well as a technological platform for quantitative measurement. The goal of these solutions is to help their clients achieve their ESG goals and become agents of environmental and social change. This company just completed a Series A financing round and has doubled its revenue every year since its founding in 2013. They are looking for a Bilingual Business Development Representative to join their team.

About The Role

They are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Business Development Representative (BDR) to join their growing sales team. As the BDR, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth by generating interest and creating opportunities for their Account Executive team.

This is a role in which they are happy to help develop and coach the right candidate, so a willingness to grow with the team is key, alongside confidence in your own skills.

They would love to hear from candidates who are passionate about the environment and solving climate change. You will take on new responsibilities and have the opportunity to become involved in more parts of the business as they grow.

For this role, we are only accepting candidates who are based in Montreal and who are willing to commute downtown to the Montreal office two to three times per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to identify potential leads and target industries, identify key decision-makers, and tailor outreach strategies accordingly.
  • Reach out to leads through various channels, including emails, phone calls, and social media.
  • Qualify leads by engaging in meaningful conversations to understand their needs and challenges.
  • Educate leads about their products/services and how they can address specific pain points.
  • Schedule appointments, demos, or meetings for the Sales team with qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure a smooth hand-off of qualified leads and execution of a wider sales strategy.
  • Build and maintain an accurate pipeline of potential customers, track and manage leads in the CRM.
  • Contribute to the internal feedback loop between Tech, Sales, and Product to ensure that customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for improvement are communicated.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Continuously strive to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs) and OKRs, such as lead conversion rates and appointment-setting targets.

Required Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • 1-2 Years of experience in B2B sales development, lead generation, or a customer-facing role, with some experience of independent work in a remote environment.
  • Desire to learn from experienced Account Executives, and eagerness to adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet in a conversation - ask and answer questions with ease.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and listening with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Persistence, resilience, and a positive attitude in the face of challenges.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and emails to engage with potential leads.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving or exceeding targets.
