**Scope/ Purpose of the Position**:
Responsible to the Manager, Cabin Mobility &
Publications for the administration of the Cabin Mobility programs and other innovation initiatives as assigned. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of Cabin Electronic innovations, programs, and support systems, and oversee inventory control measures and forecasting of asset requirements. This position will work closely with Operations IT in the deployment of new devices as the need arises and will collaborate with existing technology partners in training, safety and Flight Operations.
**Key Functions &
Accountabilities**:
In conjunction with Manager, Cabin Mobility &
Publications, coordinate hardware and software requirements, procurement, and act as Project Administrator during embodiment.
- Act as branch liaison, manage and champion the resolution of issues reported for Cabin mobility and electronic manuals from the operation.
- Maintain a focus on communication of technology innovations and support issues through various platforms.
- Support all IFS systems and platforms used by Cabin Crew and the IFS management team.
- Assist with development, implement, and support of Cabin Electronic Flight Bag program at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.
- Participate in ongoing cabin mobility program meetings and responsible for Action Items on the program.
- Maintain stock of assets and ensure minimum numbers are maintained at all bases
- Monitor and administer the SharePoint Inventory Tracker
- Establish, maintain and track, through OneDrive and SharePoint systems, all technological inventory belonging to the In-Flight branch.
- Develop, maintain and design Cabin Mobility admin and user Guides.
- Administer IFS Cabin Mobility and IFS Technology Yammer Groups and coordinate answers to any related inquiries
- Assist in developing and managing Loaner device inventories at all bases.
- Oversee new Service Director device setup including case distribution, preparation of iPads for deployment, and assignment of assets in Cabin Mobility tracking system.
- Organize payroll deductions with HR relating to the cost of charge cables, power modules, iPads, etc.
- Provide support to Manager, Cabin Mobility &
Publications as required.
- Work in close collaboration and provide support to all members of the Onboard Excellence team
- Represent the Manager, Cabin Mobility &
Publications as required.
- Be hands on/deployment, front line point of contact
- Trouble-shoot issues as front-line SPOC and will forward issues to IT (if he cannot solve)
- Assist directly with crew to re-set and update equipment
- SME for i-Pad, sim card, point of sale (any technology)
- Communicate (by bulletin, yammer, e-pub, video) issues to crew and follows up with fix
- Organize payroll deductions with HR relating to the cost of charge cables, power modules, iPads, etc.
- Tests new i-Pads and cases - determines which ones work best for IFS
**Qualifications**
**Education**:
Bachelor of Science, Applied Sciences, or Engineering with emphasis on aerospace and/or Information Technology is highly desirable. Post-graduate level or equivalent studies in Information Technology, Applied Science or Business Development is an asset.
**Linguistic requirements**:
- Ability to communicate fluently in both written and oral English. Bilingual highly desirable
- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint as well as electronic mail efficiently.
**Experience/Business Knowledge**:
- Possess knowledge of Air Canada In-Flight Service Standard Operation Procedures.
- Flight attendant Initial Training with Air Canada's experience as cabin crew in both domestic and international operations is essential.
- Must demonstrate significant achievements in specific technical areas and/or issues;
proven superior interpersonal skills, writing skills and leadership capabilities.
