TCR is a progressive company in the financial sector, with around 400 employees in 4 offices across Canada.Position OverviewWe are currently seeking hard working, energetic, professional individuals to work as a Debt Counsellor (NOC 6235 Category B) at our Toronto Office.The main objective of this position is to provide debt recovery services for a variety of large clients.Responsibilities Contact consumers via the telephone to arrange payments for past due accountsAssist clients by proposing solutions to address financial objectives such as, debt managementResearch and evaluate consumer’s financial status, credit and ability to repay the loanComplete initial trace work using online tools and account systemsFollow regulations and guidelines as per provincial, federal legislation and client specific directives.Professionally and respectfully negotiate with consumer and explore money sources to determine best possible arrangementComplete credit and loan informationCleary and concisely document the details of each callRequest statements on delinquent accounts and forward irreconcilable accounts for legal actionReview and update credit and loan filesOther duties as assignedRequirements Experience in a call center environment is an assetGood communication skills - both verbal and in writingGood listening skillsGood negotiation skillsA compassionate and empathetic approachBeing able to maintain an objective/non-judgmental position even when talkingwith clients about emotional/ difficult situationsStrong knowledge of computers and office softwareThe ability to achieve performance targetsBe able to work shifts (evening and/or weekends) on a rotating basisWhat We Offer:
