We take pride in our work to deliver thorough and quality work by being creative and innovative.ResponsibilitiesReporting to Civil and Structure Engineering Manager, the Civil and Structure Engineer is responsible of the following:
· Prepare technical deliverables for civil works (roads, underground conduits, retention ponds, etc.) according to assigned mandates;
· Prepare technical deliverables for structural works (structural steel, reinforced concrete, etc) according to assigned mandates;
· Validate the contents of the different construction packages to ensure that all required work was considered in the previous phase (if applicable);
· Design and update civil and structural standards according to the codes in force, those of the project and the client if applicable;
· Verify technical deliverables as required by VTEK procedures;
· Coordinate technical deliverables internally and make sure to have input from the disciplines involved before issuing to the client or for construction;
· Supervise the work of technicians and draughtsmen when preparing civil and structural drawings;
· Respond to client, regulatory and utility questions and guide the project through the permit application process (if required);
· Participate in the tendering and clarification process by providing the necessary support to the project team and/or client;
· Participate in projectcoordination meetings;
· Ensure that all technical documentation is prepared in accordance with VTEK quality requirements, while respecting the budget and schedule constraints of the project;
· Review shop drawings (contractor) to ensure compliance with engineering design;
· Respond to technical information requests (RFI) and deviation requests (RFD) as required;
Support the constructionteam and the contractor when performing the work as requested;
Qualifications:
10+ years’ experience as an E&
I Engineer;
Min 5 years’ experience in the oil &
gas industry;
Canadian P. Eng. Title strongly preferred;
Strong interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.Good Customer relations.Strong ability to influence people, building trust and credibility.Benefits:
