Assessment accommodation
Starting April 1, 2023, all federal employees will be required to work from a Government of Canada workplace at least two to three times per week, or 40% to 60% of their regular schedule. At Transport Canada (TC), this means we work at a worksite at least eight days during a four-week period. Worksites include, but are not limited to, spaces such as TC approved worksites and collaborative spaces;
Locations where TC inspectors conduct their work inspections or locations of stakeholder activities and meetings as well as Government of Canada touchdown and collaborative spaces.

EDUCATION (STREAM 1 AND 2)
- Secondary school diploma;
AND
- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to aircraft maintenance and/or manufacturing.
Degree equivalency
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
STREAM 1:
CASI - Airworthiness - A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License.
STREAM 2 - Airworthiness (Manufacturing) - A valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License, or an aviation related college diploma/university degree, or an acceptable combination of education, aviation experience and aviation related training.
EXPERIENCES (STREAM 1 AND 2)
- Recent experience* in holding Aircraft Certifying Authority (ACA) or Shop Certifying Authority (SCA) in a Canadian approved aircraft maintenance organization (AMO) and/or holding certifying authority within a Canadian approved manufacturing organization;
OR Recent experience* in holding supervisory or maintenance control, and/or production control or quality assurance responsibilities in a Canadian AMO or Canadian approved manufacturer.
- Extensive experience in performance of complex activities in a wide variety of situations and has six (6) or more years of Industry experience as a licensed AME and/or aeronautical manufacturing technician;
- Extensive experience demonstrating an increasing level of responsibility throughout their career.
- Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last six (6) years.
