Coffee Shop Attendant

Scope
Provide courteous and memorable service to guests while making tea and coffee beverages in an often fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Be knowledgeable of the ingredients and preparation of common tea and coffee-based drink recipes.
- Be knowledgeable of the ingredients in pastries, pre-made sandwiches, and salads for sale.
- Prepare tea and coffee-based drinks and serve pre-made foods.
- Operate cash register and know procedures for accepting all types of payment.
- Ensure the Café and retail area is always clean, organized, and fully stocked with food and retail items.
- Provide guests with help concerning the retail section of the Café.
- Maintain a balanced float.
- Be knowledgeable of the Hotel’s facilities and the surrounding area of Banff National Park.
- Follow Health &
Safety rules set by theHotel.
Physical Demands
- Constant standing and walking
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 11 pounds / 5 kg
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 22 pounds / 10 kg
- Requires operation of an espresso machine and small kitchen appliances
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Alberta ProServe certification
- Customer-service oriented
- Previous customer service experience with café experience an asset
- Excellent English communication skills
