**Your Opportunity**:
Alberta Health Services' Connect Care Clinical Operations team is currently looking to add a temporary 1-year Communications Advisor to its provincial team. Connect Care is a transformative provincial health care program that looks to integrate over 1300 independent systems across Alberta into one platform that will enhance patient quality care as we know it. The Communications Advisor role is responsible for developing and implementing communication activities within our training, readiness and implementation programs and projects by undertaking planning and delivery of internal and external communications, knowledge resource creation, and issues management. Reporting to the Readiness and Communications Directors, the Communications Advisor works as a liaison between the Clinical Operations Informatics Office (COIO) and AHS Community Engagement and Communications to advance the creation, publication and maintenance of knowledge artifacts - training materials and tip sheets, work packages, quick start guides, newsletters, memos, stories, etc.

**Description**:
Works with lead and senior communications advisors to develop and implement communication plans. Works with lead and senior communications advisors to develop key messaging, briefing notes, speaking notes, etc., in consultation with key stakeholders. Researches and writes content for various communication tools, including publications and internal and external websites. Ensures all work adheres to department and organizational policies and guidelines. Ensures all work is in keeping with accepted best practices. Advises and consults on communications opportunities and challenges. Assists program and service areas to develop communication strategies and plans. Provides consultation to program and service areas for the development of key communication materials. Provides anticipatory, proactive communications support. Works with confidential, sensitive information in a changing and evolving environment. Ensures the alignment, integration and coordination of communication efforts that advance the brand, image and reputation of Alberta Health Services at a corporate and local level. Supports issues management, including writing key messaging and briefing notes. Notifies manager and program or service areas of emerging issues. Ensures appropriate stakeholders are informed and involved. Collaborates with other members of the Communications department. Effectively manages multiple projects and assignment simultaneously. Maintain public repository of standard communication materials.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of a post-secondary degree in communications, information or library science, journalism and/or technical writing, or equivalent level of education and experience.
**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Five (5) or more years of professional experience in a Communications role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity. Comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe Creative suite. Basic knowledge of AHS project management tools and templates. Experience with or working knowledge of Connect Care. Working knowledge of project management principles, tools and methodologies. Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Basic knowledge of MS Project. Understanding of the key industry issues;
using this knowledge inown work. Conceptual knowledge in own discipline and strive to enhance competency in same. Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential, sensitive information Ability to sit/stand for extended periods. Ability to tolerate extended computer time. Ability to lift or carry up to 15 pounds.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
3-5 years related experience preferred (e.G., organizational change management, project management, benefits realization, etc.). Experience with MS Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Tableau &
Adobe InDesign preferred. Proven ability to work with mínimal direction. Demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
