About the role:
Film Training Manitoba is looking for a Communications and Outreach Coordinator to fulfill our mandate of workforce development and training for Manitoba’s growing film industry. This position requires an experienced, knowledgeable, diplomatic professional who can work collaboratively in a fast-paced work environment.
About FTM:
FTM is a non-profit charity and member of the Province of Manitoba’s sector council program (through the Department of Economic Development and Jobs). FTM conducts workforce development and training to build a highly skilled and adaptable film industry to support the activities of Manitoba production companies. FTM collaborates with film and television industry members to identify the training needs within the community.
**Summary of Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the Film Training Manitoba team to understand, evaluate, develop, and deliver effective communication plans.
- Manage the Film Training Manitoba Newsletter, including content writing and scheduling.
- Contribute to/manage Film Training Manitoba's social media platforms.
- Contribute to the planning, content creation, and design of Film Training Manitoba's internal and external communications and presentations.
- Collaborate and provide guidance on best practice communications strategies and tactics.
- Provide additional administrative support, including website and database updating.
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- Experience writing for a variety of documents such as articles, news releases, presentations, and speeches.
- Experience dealing with creative and digital assets, the media, social media, event planning, and overall communication and marketing.
- Excellent project management and organization skills.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to prioritize deliverables.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a cross-functional environment.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a small team environment and demonstrate a collaborative teamwork attitude.
- Highly organized and able to work on tight deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a multi-task, fast-paced environment that may also entail potential early morning, evening, and weekend work.
- Must have an understanding of the following programs:
Adobe Suites, WordPress, Mailchimp, Survey Monkey, Canva, LinkTree, Buffer and Microsoft Office.
