**ABOUT THE POSITION**
The Conference Coordinator (CC) reports to an Event Manager (PM) and is one of several CCs on staff at BUKSA. The mission of the CC is to work with EM in organizing conferences and events that are held virtually, in-person in centres
Across Canada, and abroad. Coordination of logístical details and on-site project execution are the primary responsibilities of the CC.
Some administrative and coordination experience is preferred. The CC enjoys working in teams, has excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast‐paced environment where many projects are being planned simultaneously.
Position is based in Edmonton or Calgary.
**This is a junior position, ideal for someone at the beginning of their events**
**career or recently graduated who is eager to learn and grow with our team.**
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Effective and professional communication, both verbal and written, at all times.
- Coordinate Committee Meetings and prepare appropriate materials. Prepare interim and final reports.
- Coordinate speaker logistics including travel, accommodations, and agreements.
- Create websites, develop promotional material including eblasts and social media, and work with designers and printers.
- Build event registration forms and reports and provide event customer service support.
- Coordinate venues by assisting with catering, audio-visual set-up, and on‐site oversight.
- Prepare call for abstracts and build abstract submission form.
- Support the abstract review process.
- Prepare, collate, and distribute evaluations.
- Execute in-person and virtual events, travel to event destinations as needed.
- Manage virtual event platforms, populate event content, integrate video conferencing platforms, and coordinate the day-of execution of the event on the platform.
- Conferences have many components, and the position will include other logistics coordination as required by the projects.

**SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Undergraduate Degree or two-year Diploma from an accredited institution an asset.
- 1 to 2 years’ office experience or experience in the events or hotel industry considered an asset.
- Ability to actively and consistently represent BUKSA’s values and goals.
- Technical competence in platforms such as Zoom, sli.Do, Survey Monkey, Microsoft Office, Squarespace, and other virtual conference platforms considered an asset.
- Some travel required;
some evening and weekend work required.
- Driver’s license and own vehicle required.
**Compensation**
$38,000 - $50,000;
based on experience.
