GIP has an opportunity available as a **Construction** **Field Technician**, located in Kitchener.

**Job Duties**
As a Field Technician, you will assist Project Superintendents and Project Managers with daily management of project(s) including but not limited to the following:
- Coordinate and supervise construction activities
- Coordinate construction material deliveries
- Maintain project diary on a daily basis
- Maintain project quantities on a daily basis
- Maintain quality control documentation and coordinate testing/inspections
- Maintain environmental documentation and coordinate inspections.
- Generate traffic control plans and assist with implementation.
- Perform general surveying
- Calculate all productivity and material yield
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health &
Safety Act
**Qualifications**
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working on heavy civil construction projects
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient using Microsoft Office
- A valid G driver’s license
- 50 hours per week;
Willing to work overtime, nights, weekends as required
- Working on job site from construction trailer
**What’s nice to have?**
- Practical construction industry experience
- Experience with an ERP system (JD Edwards)
