The Continuous Improvement Specialist fosters a collaborative approach to develop, lead and coach Kingston Works to execute on operational excellence strategy, plan, and activities. This position excels when it encourages our Cultural Belief of Say Anything and seeks continuous learning opportunities.The role will support our Focused 5 by:
- Developing safe spaces for conversation amongst teams to suggest innovative solutions and procedures, contributing to the plant’s safety culture. - Coaching and supporting all pillars and loss teams by attending meetings as required. - Supporting Improvement Process Cycle (IPC) and Single Agenda. - Positively engaging in change management initiatives and support the plant by effectively communicating change. - Being responsible for facilitation of Routine Management meetings. - Actively being a member of various teams including, but not limited to:
Routine Management Lead Team, the Deployment Team and SI Pillar. - Leading Continuous Improvement events, track engagement and, in turn, search for ways to increase employee engagement. - Being accountable for training teams on different tools and platforms (ie. 5y, Prob Solving, WCM tools) to achieve set Focus 5 targets. - Being a super user of the software Project Tracker, oversee project progression as it relates to continuous improvement. - Supporting monthly reporting to various stakeholders such as global team members, plant leadership or pillar members. - Maintaining Continuous Improvement scorecards and storyboards. - Liaising between the Steering Committee and pillars by coordinating pillar audits and taking minutes during meetings or scheduling facilitation. The successful applicant will have:
- Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Continuous Improvement related background (ie. Lean, DMAIC, IE, Kaizen). - Experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, or project management preferred. - Willingness to obtain and uphold different certifications, such as PKE Certification and Change Leadership Certification - Proven Project Management experience, preferred. - Ability to demonstrate leadership skills by developing credibility and rapport with leadership and peers to implement change without direct supervisory control. - Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment and able to be flexible and adapt quickly. - Effective communicates verbally and through written communication. - Creativity in problem solving, collaboratively, resulting in quick and innovative solutions, - Ability to positively lead change in response to shifting demands, as well as multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
