GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Organize and develop daily production shipment planning that optimizes our plant efficiencies, trucking efficiencies yet meet our customers’ delivery requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop daily plant production schedule in the most efficient sequence while meeting customer requirements.
• Develop daily TruckSupervise external truck Drivers and ensure delivery schedules are set to maximize loads in an efficient sequence while meeting customer requirements.
• Coordinate with CSR’s for the production scheduling and shipment of the customer orders on time.
• Inform production team of problems or situations that may affect plant performance.
• Adhere to daily production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
• Implement and track plans to improve delivery times and plant productivity.
• Suggest and implement plans to help reduce company costs in delivery and plant efficiency.
• Review Mobile Delivery Force to investigate areas for improvement.
• Communicate with colleagues to avoid problems between departments.
• Establish high morale within the department by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems. Maintain confidentiality.
• Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety program, and good housekeeping.
• Produce daily on-time delivery reports and find ways to improve on-time delivery.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

- Skilled communicator, both written and verbal

- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.

- Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

- Excellent organizational and leadership skills

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Work with integrity and respect by being tactful and diplomatic.

Qualifications

- Shipping and logistics scholarship

- Minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience in transportation management
