**Data Entry Operator (Temporary - up to 6 months)**
**Public Works Department**
**POSITION FUNCTION**
Prepare and enter daily timesheets from all sections within Public Works, reconcile purchase cards and provide back-up to clerical functions.
**KEY DUTIES**
Perform related duties where qualified.
**INDEPENDENCE**
Work is assigned by supervisor and designated staff and reviewed upon completion.
Problems are referred to supervisor.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**
**Physical Effort**:
Sit with arms unsupported while performing data entry. (continuous)
Repetitive motions while performing data entry. (continuous)
**Mental Effort**:
Normal.
Meet payroll and finance deadlines (occasional)
**Visual/Auditory Effort**:
Focus on a variety of source data and computer for long periods. (continuous)
**Work Environment**:
Office.
**KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
Understand and discuss job related matters.
Maintain accurate records
Data entry at 15000 keystrokes per hour.
Working level operation of current City of Victoria software and other relevant programs.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification**:
High school graduation.
**Experience**:
1 year of data entry experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
**OTHER**:
May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
**Work schedule:
Monday - Friday, 35 hour work week**
**$31.78 per hour, Pay Grade 5**
