**Summary of responsibilities**:
Responsible for communicating effectively with clinical and administrative staff so they are able to understand their information needs and interpret the data/indicators provided;
perform quality assurance audits and ensure data quality;
participate in reporting and analysis of clinical data to enable better decisions by directors and senior administration;
collect and input statistical information as required by Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards;
verify the reasonability of the data.
**Requirements of the job**:
Required:
- Graduate from an approved school for Health Information Management
- Current member or eligible for membership in the Canadian Health Information Management Association
- CIHI Portal Analyst
- Skills in using data management, analysis, reporting tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with staff, physicians, and management
- Effective in written and verbal communication and presentation
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CCI in addition to grouping methodologies
- Knowledge of MIS Standards
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, databases)Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook, databases)
- Organizational abilities with initiative and the ability to work unsupervised
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Demonstrated regular/punctual attendance
- Functional proficiency in English (oral and written )
