Your New CompanyOur client, headquartered in Vancouver, is a full integrated real estate company which presently oversees a diverse portfolio of properties spanning 18 million square feet of office spaces, retail outlets, industrial facilities, and residential income-producing properties. Your New RoleAs the Director of Operations, your primary purpose will be to implement standardized procedures for the building operations team. Your mission is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all properties under management. Additionally, you’ll work strategically across various departments to provide effective building management solutions. In this role, you’ll also take the lead in overseeing our Occupational Health and Safety program, along with corporate-wide initiatives. Your key duties include overseeing and enhancing the onboarding training program for the operations team. This involves providing advice to the property management team and mentoring junior building operators. You will take ownership of the building operations standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent implementation, and conducting regular audits. Additionally, you will collaborate with property managers on budget preparation and contractor monitoring. Your role will be instrumental in driving the corporate strategy and achieving ESG goals. Furthermore, you will actively participate in industry associations.What You Need to SucceedThe successful candidate must exhibit exceptional managerial, leadership, customer-service, and communication skills. They should be adept at coaching and motivating direct reports, cross-functional teams, and clients. Additionally, the ability to present and communicate ideas effectively across all organizational levels and to diverse audiences is crucial. Proactivity, forward-thinking, and strategic acumen are essential for driving company growth and profitability. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7+ years of commercial property maintenance service experience within an “A” Class asset class. Additionally, they should possess expertise in building management and mechanical systems, including DDC, HVAC, elevator equipment, and lighting control systems. Preference is given to those who hold a 4th class power engineering certificate. In return for your contributions, you’ll receive:
