We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our Stewarding Department for **full-time DISHWASHER positions for early mornings (08:
00 am start)**. Reporting to the Stewarding Supervisors, this position is responsible for:
**General Responsibilities**:
- Clean all pots and pans returned from events.
- Clean all kitchen equipment, working closely with the chefs and cooks to maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
- Assist with dish-outs as needed.
- Expedite food for functions from time to time.
- Dispose of all waste and recycling according to the criteria of our recycling program.
- Ensure the dishwashers are working, being maintained and cleaned properly.
- Work within Food Safe preparation standards and procedures.
- Work within WorkSafe B.C. standards concerning the use of chemicals, and other physical hazards in the workplace.
**KEY REQUIREMENTS**:
- Previous experience in a commercial production kitchen.
- Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and work well within a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change, and work calmly and efficiently.
- Proficient English skills in order to communicate with team members and for safety within the kitchen. Written English proficiency to read and understand manufacturer’s equipment manuals and Material Safety Data Sheets, as well as Event Orders.
- Available to work a variety of shifts including some evenings and weekends.
- WHMIS training and Food Safe Level 1 are an advantage but not required.
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**:
- Strong physical health and fitness, as the position involves the moving of heavy objects, some lifting and carrying, pushing and pulling of heavy equipment, manual cleaning, and long stretches of time standing and walking.
