- Reporting to the Director of Curriculum Services, the Education Support will champion the use of technology, learning and understanding Sprott Shaw’s systems and file management, to both support the campus staff and instructors, as well as our Head Office’s Education Department._
**Responsibilities**:
- Technical supportAdministration and management of the learning management system (G2) in respect to user accounts
Technical support for campus staff and instructors
Integration with other systems, including Sprott Shaw’s student administration system
Create and revise the content in development and already current, including the usage of various tools in the Moodle platform for upload portals, online testing, discussion forums, and course evaluations
Assist staff in other departments (including health care program support)
Administer accounts for staff, instructors, and students to various systems (e.G. WebEx, third-party/publisher packages, admissions testing).
Support the Director of Curriculum Services on e-learning and online training initiatives and increased use of technology as appropriate.
- File managementMaintain content on SSC’s internal server related to course/curriculum for all courses, including archiving and version control
Maintain and manage content related to G2 support documentation
- Sprott Shaw College’s internal systemsDevelop an understanding of SSC’s FAST system (student administration)
Develop an understanding of the functions of SSC’s current program database
Assist and understand the management of textbooks - print and digital - within our book inventory system and tracking changes and their effect on pricing, course curriculum, and program databases, when requested
- Third-party course and platform creation and/or maintenanceResearch and recommend technology that can improve educational delivery and enable alternative methods of delivering existing products.
- Course creation and revisionReceive curriculum from internal and external sources to prepare the documents are accurate and professionally presented
Create/post curriculum into our G2 system
- Document production/creation, revision, proofreading, and editingDevelopment, editing, and revision of forms and sample documentation related to education
Receive, proofread, and edit all curriculum submitted to the Education Department
Maintain documentation for various instructions and guides used in G2 for instructors and students - related to G2 functions, password guides, access and logins to e-books and other resources.
- Content design Use knowledge and skills of web
- Other related curriculum and technical duties as assigned by Director of Curriculum Services.
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
**Qualifications and Education**:
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent in Education or Education Administration (or equivalent work experience in the career college industry) is a large asset
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Moodle and other learning management systems
- Knowledge and experience in the use of file-sharing programs, particularly SharePoint
- Understand the theories and processes of instructional design for adult learners.
