JMT Consultants Inc. is a growing structural consulting firm seeking an Estimator to join our dedicated team. For individuals outside of the Winnipeg area, we offer an exciting relocation expenses package.
We are seeking a skilled, motivated Estimator to join our growing team. They will be able to problem solve and make sound decisions to ensure project timelines are met. You must have a keen attention to detail and skills at estimating projects from a comprehensive view to set our client’s expectations accurately.

**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and assist in completing budgetary and final estimating of scopes of work.
- Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.
- Use knowledge to focus work and drive short and long-term solutions.
- Assess projects by identifying requirements regarding time, labor, and material costs.
- Responsible for detailed cost estimates and qualification development for bid proposals
- Perform detailed structural and miscellaneous take-offs.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation to ensure accuracy.
- Present estimates to clients in a timely and polite manner
- Other projects as assigned
- Assist with Project Controls (Schedule/Cost control)
**Qualifications**:
- Must be proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
- Tekla Powerfab or Fabsuite experience is an asset but not required.
- Work experience in tilt panels, manufacturing facilities, and schools is an asset but not required.
- The ability to read blueprints is an asset.
- Ability to operate independently or with a team
- Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
- Must be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and timelines
**Requirements**:
- Diploma/certificate
- Canadian Citizenship/Legally able to work in Canada
