The Opportunity:
Join our client's team, a tier1 manufacturer to the automotive industry, as a Facilities Engineer. In this role you will get the chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. You'll be at the forefront of maintaining critical systems and processes, driving continuous improvement, and upholding their commitment to quality and environmental standards.What You’ll Be Doing:
Ensuring the smooth operation of air handling systems, water purification, and humidity controls essential for our painting processes.Overseeing the refurbishment of our paint facilities, including booths, ovens, and related structures, while managing contracts and contractors.Monitoring and optimizing process parameters to maximize performance, including temperature, humidity, and airflow balance.Managing chemical processes for power washing, RO plants, and sludge management to maintain optimal conditions.Identifying and implementing capital investments for facility improvements, as well as exploring new processing technologies.Analyzing processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address non-conformances and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Managing supplier relationships and product sourcing to reduce costs and improve effectiveness.What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.Strong project management skills, including experience with RFQ preparation and expenditure recommendations.Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), and Lean Manufacturing principles.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time.Minimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a technical role.Extensive knowledge of paint processes, air handling systems, and water chemistry management.Additional qualifications such as a College Technician diploma or experience with Automation Controls PLC would be advantageous.
