Financial Analyst

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Accountant is accountable for analysis of the Financial Statements for two plants and the consolidated results - Mississauga and North York.
The individual will ensure the accuracy of the financial statement close process, performance of internal controls (including account reconciliations), analysis and timely, insightful, action-oriented variance reporting and overall leading-edge financial support.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Consolidation of financials between Mississauga and North York plants, ensuring financials accurately represented;
- Provide analysis and commentary to financial results (target audience includes Corporate Finance and Plant Operations);
- Preparation and analysis of key operational and financial reports as part of monthly packages;
- Identify opportunities to improve/expand plant reporting to enable better business decisions;
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including, but not limited to capital assets, trade spend and other liability accruals, intercompany and cash (bank);
- Prepare ad hoc analysis as required by sales, plant manager, business performance and other departments;
- Provide recommendations for streamlining existing processes and system to help generate synergies between locations.
**Requirements**:
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA) is required;
- 3 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment (food industry is an asset);
- A diploma/degree in accounting or finance and related account reconciliation experience is required;
