General Labourer - Landscaping/Tree Planting

We are looking for some energetic, enthusiastic, hard working labourers to join our team for the fall landscaping and Christmas Tree harvest season. Prior landscaping experience not required, but is an asset. Driver's license not required, but must have reliable transportation to and from our main farm each day.
Must be able to work on your feet for long periods, lift 50 lbs, be able to work well as a team member, and be prepared to work in many outdoor conditions.
Hours:
Monday
- Friday 7am-6pm*
Optional weekends
*End time for each day fluctuates depending on when jobs are completed, some days it can be earlier, and others it can be later.
Uniform supplied by company (including high-vis clothing and hard hat)
- employee pays for half, deducted in increments from pay cheques. Employee must provide their own proper CSA steel toed work boots.
We do commercial and residential landscaping and tree planting, and have several municipal tree planting contracts.
**Duties include, but are not limited to**:
Harvesting trees
- includes tying wire baskets
Planting trees
- planting small seedlings in field both by machine and by hand, hand digging holes for larger trees, assisting machine planting of larger trees
Creating Gardens
- removing sod, spreading topsoil, planting shrubs, and spreading mulch
Assist loading and unloading trucks
Cutting and wrapping Christmas trees
This job is seasonal, with the season ending mid-December (exact date dependent on workload and weather). Employees will be notified in advance once the end date is decided, and provided with a layoff upon completion. Starting wage will be $17.50/hour with the potential for a pay increase after completing a one month probationary period.
