The position of General Manager - National Restaurant Operations at the restaurant will oversee all operations of the restaurant business and serve as a critical member of our management team.
Specifically, the primary duties will include the following at the restaurants:
- Establish objectives for each restaurant alongside the management team;
- Plan and/or approve of policies and programs to be implemented at each restaurant;
- Allocate materials, as well as human and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs (e.G. procurement, cost and inventory management, ingredient ordering and supplier management);
- Approve of promotional campaigns;
- Oversee and approve of overall personnel planning, hiring, and policies at the restaurants (including but limited to directors, managers, chefs, and support staff to ensure quality control of the food);
- Represent the business in negotiations or other official functions;
- Establish objectives and lead the planning for the upcoming 25 associated restaurants;
- Hire and lead therecruitment procedure for over 30+ staff members at each new anticipated location required for the new restaurants;
- Optimize and document the operating processes for the restaurants, and select the suitable enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) system for expansions;
- Oversee overall profitability of the restaurants and areas for improvement;
- Advise on consumer tastes, and menu design and pricing;
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and specialty abilities in Edomae style sushi preparation to chefs and team members;
and
- Performance of other services as may be required by the company from time to time
**Job requirements**:
- Renowned chef with prestigious credentials (e.G. awards, accolades, Michelin rated etc.) with the ability to become the face of the restaurants as required (including branding, marketing, and promotional dealings);
- 5+ years experience in traditional Edomae style sushi preparation;
- The proven ability to pair and prepare alcohol with Edomae style sushi offerings;
- 5+ years of Japanese restaurant kitchen management experience, including managing personnel and operating expenses;
- The ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently;
- Capable of delegating multiple tasks;
- Communication andleadership skills, working with internal and external teams, as well as the public;
- Up-to-date on industry trends and best practices applicable to the restaurant;
