The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill our General Utility Person position. Under the direction of the Confidential Supervisor the General Utility Person operates a variety of small equipment relating to the maintenance of streets ads including operating a steam boiler, traffic line marking, oiling program, traffic sign maintenance, storm sewer maintenance neral repair of City streets nes.
This position will perform the following duties:
Supervision of two or more staff engaged in similar work
Investigate complaints related to sidewalks, paved or dirt roads, snow removal nding
Clean pair culverts tch basins;
clear blocked storm sewers
Operate steam boiler for tawing catch basins, hydrants, house connections, ect.
Operate intain portable air compressor, equipment for painting traffic lines
Repair ect traffic reet identification signs
Carry out maintenance pairs to traffic light poles vits
Supervise ect street banners reet decorations
Perform basic acetylene torch use
Supervise -ordinate the required barricading for City projects erating tasks
Instruct flagmens course annually
Operate City owned suck
Qualified ctes will have:
Class 3G drivers license.
Firemans Certificate of qualification for the operation of pressure boilers eam plant.
Front End Loader Operator Certificate.
Oxy Acetylene Torch Certification
Able to obtain certifications for Flagmens Instructor, First Aid R.
Effective interpersonal skills an able to establish intain harmonious working relationships with other staff members e public.
This position be required to work weekends ift work when required.
