**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager of Food Services and under the direct supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, the General Worker serves meals to IWK patients;
distributes food and par-stock items to units;
assists in the simple preparation and portioning of food as per duty lists;
replenishes stock;
assembles, delivers and sets up foods and supplies for catering events, assists in cleaning throughout the department;
and works as part of a team in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of the service. The General Worker may be asked to perform other Food Services related activities.
**Hours of Work**:
Shifts range from 3.0 to 11.25 hours. Monday-Sunday, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. 24 hour operation. Flexible hours and backshifts are required.
**Your Qualifications**:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Recent experience/training in a food service setting required.
- Food Handlers Course required (or willingness to maintain within one year of hire).
- WHMIS required (or willingness to maintain within six months of hire).
- Must have demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal and communication (both verbal &
written) skills.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
