Guest Service Associate

The **Best Western-Glengarry** is seeking a Guest Service Associates for their location in Truro, Nova Scotia
Position:
Permanent, full time - 40 Hours.
**Salary**:
$14.50/ Hour.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-year experience in Hospitality industry preferred
Language:
Speak, Read, Write - English
Specialization:
Customer service skills, Cash Balancing.
Reporting to the Front Desk Manager and Management team, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Register/Check In arriving guests and assign rooms
- Answer inquiries regarding hotel services by telephone and in person, provide information about services available in the community and respond to guests' complaints
- Credit Card, Debit Card and Direct Billing balancing.
- Room Allotment for the following day.
- Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers using computerized or manual systems
- Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment in the Morning.
- Communicating with hotel staff on the status of guest rooms
- Handling cash payments
- Maintain a clean and neat front desk area
- Handling customer complaints in absence of manager
**Summary of Qualifications**:
- Previous experience as front desk clerk an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving abilities

- Ability to work well under pressure as needed
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to work daytime, evenings, and weekends as required
