Gwaandak Theatre is hiring a Production Manager to support the company's programming!
The Production Manager drafts job calls, coordinates interviews, develops contracts, and manages the hiring of production contractors with support from other members of the staff. They lead orientation for new contractors, ensuring reporting policies are known and understood, and supervise the work of mid
- to low
- level production positions, acting as a point of contact between Gwaandak Theatre and Project Leads. They also coordinate and maintain production calendars as well as organize and chair production meetings.
The Production Manager is responsible for researching and booking rehearsal and performance venues, negotiating presentation agreements, managing ticketing systems, and developing reporting templates for Project Leads to complete. They communicate production updates to the Marketing Team including dates of programming, locations, cast/crew information, and sponsor acknowledgement requirements. The Production Manager works closely with the Administrative and Operations Manager to ensure contractors submit necessary documents for payment and supports payment tracking as needed. They are responsible for ensuring vital production information is communicated in a timely manner to the appropriate parties and are expected to anticipate contractor and project needs to the best of their ability.
This position has dynamic and shifting responsibilities dependent on the different kinds of programming offered each year, requiring an individual who can respond to problems independently when required. Organization, preparedness, patience, time management skills, and the ability to stay calm and flexible during stressful situations are an asset to this position.
**Compensation**:
$25/hour + Employee Benefits
**Term**:
December 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024
**Commitment**:
25 hours/week on average, acknowledging that the workload, and therefore hours, will shift week to week depending on programming needs. The seven month contract is a total of 750 hours, with potential to renew for the next season.
