Horticulture Nursery Sales Associate

**Specimen Trees Wholesale Nurseries Ltd**. BC, Canada. We are a leading grower of trees and ornamental nursery stock in Western Canada on over 250 acres. We are a family-based nursery that has been in business for over 50 years. We are known for producing high quality plant material and providing excellent customer service. We work closely with all aspects of the horticultural trade in Canada and the US, but primarily with Landscapers, Retail Garden Centers and Re-Wholesalers. Our management and staff work closely together to assure the most positive environment for our customers.
**We are looking for someone who**:
Has Excellent plant knowledge of trees, shrubs and perennials, with Sales experience and/or sales training.
Has a positive personality
Likes the challenge of a fast-paced environment Is self-motivated and results driven
Likes to deal with people in a sales environment
Has strong computer and smart phone skills
Is proficient in excel and word Is organized and have an attention to detail
Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Has basic knowledge of the Nursery/Retail Garden Centre industry
Works well in a productive team environment
**Qualifications**:
Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent experience in the horticultural trade
At least 1 year of sales experience
At least 1 year of Customer Service experience
Good computer skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English
Must be able work in an outdoor environment when called for (Rain or Shine)
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Follow and adhere to all safety procedures
**Responsibilities**:
- Take all general in-coming sales calls and respond to all requests including going out into the nursery to check stock and
Take photographs of product if required
- Provide professional, accurate quotations in a timely manner
- Have good sales follow-up skills, as well as build positive relationships with customers and suppliers
- Initiate sales
- Source and purchase plant material when needed from other suppliers
- Work with sales team on sales initiatives
- Help customers on the phone, as well as help walk-in customers in Landscape Pick-up yard.
- Work closely with dispatch and project management team, as well as AP/AR and Management to assure excellent
Business relations.
- Help keep inventory accurate
