**Qualifications**
- Ability to work efficiently, politely, effectively, and personably with residents and staff alike, able to follow MSDS of products used.
- Is respectful of client’s person and property, right and privacy, pleasant interpersonally, cheerful, tactful and courteous to Weston Gardens Residents, their families and friends
- Free from health problems that may be injurious to the client or the Home Support Worker as he/she performs delegated tasks, as well as evidence of good personal health habits
- Possession of the emotional and mental maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, clients family
- Ability to perform physical tasks that care necessary for the position;
i.E., transferring, lifting clients, maneuvering and lifting equipment, if appropriate, e.G., wheelchair, walker that is necessary to provide effective, safe client care
- Regular availability
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Follow routine and weekly schedule, sign off on completed rooms.
- Able to comply with the physical demands of the unit.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team player.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Second language is an asset, especially Italian
- Must be fully vaccinated (COVID-19)
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
**Key Responsibilities**
- As the Housekeeper, you will provide planned goal directed housekeeping in coordination with the Executive Director as manager.
- Housekeeping in personal rooms, lobby, and washrooms as indicated. Cleaning, vacuuming, disinfecting, and emptying of garbage receptacles as indicated on job routines.
- The Housekeeper works within an interdisciplinary team to provide resident support.
- The Housekeeper will ensure consistency in approach and optimum benefit for the resident by assessing, and identifying patient goals, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient’s progress in cleanliness of their space and working with the Executive Director.
- Assists the client to maintain good room hygiene.
- Assists in implementing and maintaining a healthful, safe environment through the provision of effective safety measures.
- Assists the resident to maximize abilities by encouraging the resident to become as independent as possible according to the Plan of Care and housekeeping schedule, promoting the inherent worth and dignity of each resident
- Report to the charge nurse and or the Environmental Services Manager for client changes in needs, or concerns.
- Numerous other responsibilities as needed
