**Overall Responsibility**
The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for performing HR support functions to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the Red Door Family Shelter’s employment related services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Recruitment &
Onboarding:
_
- Coordination of all new hire paperwork (ex:
monitor status of outstanding documents, confirming collection and processing for onboarding)
- Partner with hiring managers to ensure hiring needs are understood and met within timelines
- Performing background checks that include reference checking, vulnerable screening process, etc.
- HR Administration:
_
- Maintains employee files and HR department filing (grievance files, resource materials, pay equity documentation, minute meetings, etc.)
- Ensures all benefit enrollment forms for eligible employees are initiated, completed and remitted within the assigned timelines.
- Follow up and update Human Resource Information System and generate reports as required.
- Prepare employment verification letters, memos, meeting minutes updating timesheets, change of status reporting, etc.
- Coordinates employee training activities by;
tracking employee training requirements, scheduling employee training, and maintaining training records.
- Payroll:
_
- Coordinate with site managers on a bi-weekly basis to submit timesheets and change forms for processing payroll
- Maintains the staff salary bi-weekly changes and payroll information file
- Completes the semi-annual seniority listing for union staff
- Liaise with third party staffing agencies for contract staffing positions as required
- Acts as first point of contact for employees regarding payroll questions/concerns, benefits questions, etc.
Other duties will be assigned by the Senior Manager, Human Resources as required.
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role and/or professional services industry
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Office 365, Teams etc.
- Experience in using Human Resources Information System (Info-HR)
- Problem-solving and resourcefulness aptitude, with a demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction
- Ability the work collaboratively and productively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and a great attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Sound judgment with the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Note:
It may be necessary at times to work in excess of 35 hours per week during events, including evenings and weekends.
