Nova Scotia Accomodation providedOur client is looking for a dynamic individual to join their organization as an Interim Director Environment, Health, and Safety. This position will manage the maintenance and enhancement of EHS policies to provide a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace, including direct supervision of site EHS staff. Oversee programs to assure compliance with Corporate EHS Audit policy as well as applicable OSH (GHS), CEPA, NFPA standards and regulations. The Director EHS will also champion projects to achieve plant or corporate goals and objectives.Key Accountabilities:
The development, planning and implementation of environmental health and safetyand procedures across all sites.Compliance with company and government regulations and manage all contact with appropriate agencies.Measuring, and reporting on occupational and health and safety performance.And disseminating information relative to the hazard communication program for all hazardous products, Safety Data Sheets and Product Labelling (GHS).And implementing management systems and new programs to reduce injury potential and ensure robust regulatory compliance.Timely delivery of occupational health and safety training to all employees.When process hazard analysis is required and providing oversight for evaluation, assignment of action items, and verification of remediation.And managing sustainability.Oversight for the industrial hygiene program.Departmental managers/supervisors in accident investigations, identifying root causes, reporting, documenting and follow-up. Responsible for ensuring proper records are maintained, accidents and injuries are investigated, and appropriate reports are filed.Appropriate corrective actions are taken on health, safety, and environmental hazards or potential hazards.Developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.As organization’s designated Biosafety Officer.The following major compliance programs:
Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA, NPRI &
NSN);
Hazardous Waste Program, Transportation of Dangerous Good;
Provincial OccupationalHealth and Safety Act;
Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety Management (PSM).Internal health and safety audits are being completed and documented.The organization receives ISO certificationto Health and Safety Policy as outlinedand implement environmental sustainability planCompetencies and Requirements:
Occupational Health, and Safety certificate/diploma.Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.Years’ experience in a chemical or pharmaceutical processing facility.With the principles of Occupational Health and Safety Management.Managing a health and safety system in an industrial setting.Of applicable health and safety legislation and industry best practices.Communicator, both written and oral.To work independently with minimal supervision.Of applicable health and safety legislation and industry best practices.With ISO certification (safety – 45001\ Environmental – 14001)PLEASESEND YOUR CV TO:
