Location of work
Although primarily remote, the employee must be physically located close enough to our onsite lab located in Toronto (College and University), and be able to reach the lab within an hour. The role will require the employee to travel and work from the lab at least once per month to perform recurring maintenance tasks.
Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, the IT Helpdesk Technician is the first contact of end-user support, and responsible for resolving user issues in accordance with Point SLAs. In addition, this role is responsible for the execution of recurring IT tasks such as backups and active monitoring of critical systems.
Objectives
- Escalate issues appropriately to sustain quick issue resolution.
- Install, make changes, and repair computer hardware when possible.
- Install and maintain OS and software updates and patches.
- Create and maintain required documentation.
- Maintain service level agreements for the organization.
- Receive and respond to system notifications such as Security, Compliance, or Performance notices, and take appropriate actions to remediate any problems that may occur.
- Perform recurring activities such as backups and integrity testing
- Support the Manager of IT in his role.
Accountabilities
- IT support ticket response within Point SLAs
- Backups and backup integrity testing
- Ensure that software, hardware and OS updates and patches are applied in a timely manner
**Requirements**:
- Minimum 3 years working in an IT support role
- Strong customer service capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Windows Environments
- Service Desk Ticketing System
- Supporting remote workers
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Office 365 Ecosystem
- Azure Active Directory
- Hypervisors (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Office 365 Administration &
Support
- Video Conferencing (Teams, Zoom)

- This role works in a hospital setting and it is mandatory for all employees to complete health screens before onboarding. In the event the screen results show non-immunity, vaccines may need to be administered.
