Under the direction of the Corporate Services Manager, the IT Lead is responsible for supporting the technological direction of Magnum. This role proposes budgets for, purchases and upgrades equipment, supervises Helpdesk IT workers, maintains and reports on department meetings and projects, and overall presides over IT-related projects.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership
- Assist in leading the day-to-day helpdesk operations of the IT department, including directing department staff in the support of administrative computing, user services, telecommunications, and other IT functions.
- Manage the service desk ticket ques to ensure quality of service and timelines are being met.
- Responsible for ensuring end user devices are tracked via asset management tools
- Assist with day to day troubleshooting of end user computing issues
- Accomplish IT staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and performance managing direct reports, and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate with other department leads to ensure that the IT department is providing required support and standards throughout the organization.
- Assist in maintaining department staff by participating in recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Maintain a safe and secure work environment, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Direct technological research by studying Magnum’s goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
IT
- Provide the scheduling of on-call support and act as an on-call support member.
- Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing Magnum standards.
General
- Participate in training and development activities.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Required:
- College diploma or a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Several years of experience in progressively responsible positions, including leadership positions.
- Experience directing and managing the work of others.
- Able to work overtime, be on call, accommodate a flexible schedule, and travel to meet the needs of the business.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs and crawl on the floor and under desk.
- Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
**Looking For**:
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including ASP, VB.NET, C#, PHP.
- Experience in the development in MS Windows systems.
- Web developing experience.
- Proficiency with databases that run on the SQL family environments.
- Customer service focused with excellent client management skills.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, reliable, and dependable.
- Understands the importance of safety.
- Demonstrated initiative and results orientated.
