Oldman is a reputable Durham-based law firm that has been providing expert legal services to clients in the areas of Real Estate Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, and Wills and Estates Law since 1951. We are seeking an experiencedAssociate Lawyer (Corporate and Real Estate) (minimum 2-5 years’ experience post call) to join our firm. The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of corporate and real estate files and must have the ability to manage corporate and residential real estate closings from beginning to end. The full-time, permanent position is based in Ajax.Due to our continued growth and client-centered approach, we are looking to add an experienced Associate Lawyer (Corporate and Real Estate) to our team.The ideal candidate will have between 2-5 years of post call experience gained in a variety of residential and/or corporate/commercial real estate and corporate transactions.You have a desire to work in an entrepreneurial law firm, to network with peers and clients alike. You should have the desire to oversee files, to work independently and/or to assist senior counsel as required. We are seeking an individual who is dedicated, with a strong work ethic, a self-starting nature and eagerness to advance the growth of the firm.Our firm operates busy Real Estate (both commercial and residential), Corporate and Wills and Estates practices. Candidates may be required to dedicate time between the various practice areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to be exposed to a variety of complex and challenging work in a suburban setting, while being part of a highly skilled and collaborative team.Essential Qualifications:
·Minimum 2-5 years of post call legal experience in Corporate and/or Real Estate Law;
·Experience in managing your own files;
·An interest in continuing to build and take charge of their practice;
·Superior communication and client management skills;
·Ability to cultivate relationships with new and existing clients;
·Enthusiasm and interestin developing a client base;
·Well organized, self-starting nature who can work independently and can demonstrate initiative;
·Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability multitask and prioritize tasks;
Assets:
·Experience in Corporate Law, Commercial Leasing and/or Wills and Estates Law;
·Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining an excellent standard of performance and client service;
·Ability to work well independently and as part of a team;
·A positive attitude andclient service oriented;
