Loading Crew/Yard Helper

**Helper - Loading Crew / Yard**
**This is a union position - USW1-207 (United Steel Workers) - any hires would also have to either be a union member or join upon hiring.**
**QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:
- Be able to work 5 days a week
- Knowledge of moving materials
- Previous operating of equipment would be an advantage, but not necessary
- Capable of using air and hand tools as required
- Reliable
- Must be able to follow orders
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Capable of employing a positive attitude and encouraging that in others
- Competent at reading and filling out paperwork
- Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions year round
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to lift above 50lbs
- Must be able to ‘climb onto loads’
- Communication Skills - Effective communication skills are essential
- Speaking - English Communication skills
- Reading, Counting &
Writing - Must have theability to complete loading reports accurately for submission to supervisors. Product knowledge is essential
- Body Language - Must portray an approachable attitude to encourage a positive work environment and use appropriate hand signals as needed around heavy equipment
- Effective Time management skills - Need to ensure that trucks are prepared for departure according to schedule and effectively manage you and your team’s time
