**About the Opportunity**:
The Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University has an excellent opportunity for a six months Locum Tenens for Nova Scotia Health’s (NSH) Central Zone Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMHA) services, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
The Department of Psychiatry is a mid-sized clinical academic department within the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Faculty work as members of multidisciplinary teams within the Nova Scotia Health Mental Health and Addictions (CMHA) Program to provide general psychiatric services to patients primarily in the Central Zone and some specialized psychiatric services to patients across the province.
**Responsibilities**:
To be attending or consultant physician to ambulatory patients in the CMHA Program.
Conduct, order and ensure appropriate psychiatric assessments, appropriate psychosocial and laboratory investigations, and pharmacological &
psychosocial interventions as per current standard practice.
Take part in a psychiatry on-call schedule as required within the clinical program unless specifically exempted.
Share in the short-term coverage of other services as needed during holidays or illness of other members of the department.
Experience working within an interdisciplinary team to provide care and treatment for persons with moderate to severe psychiatric disorder.

- Didactic teaching at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education level if/as determined in discussion with the director of education, Department of Psychiatry.

**Remuneration/Application**:
The annual salary for this position is:
$368,000
**Qualifications**:
- Fellowship in psychiatry, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC),
- or equivalent as determined by the Department of Psychiatry;
- eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
