**Manager, Finance &
Accounting at The Jean Tweed Centre**
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager, Finance and Accounting is responsible for a broad range of financial operations, including hands-on day-to-day financial priorities and the overall management of the budget for the organization. This role oversees organizational fiscal responsibility while ensuring compliance with all applicable funders, regulatory bodies and laws.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Daily Operations**
- Perform, develop and administer effective financial systems, policies and procedures.
- Preparation of forecasts, budgets, performance measures, processes and controls and variance reports.
- Perform all JTC’s day-to-day accounting (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Invoicing, GL reconciliation, Payroll)
- Manage and maintain all financial reporting functions (month end, quarterly and year end).
- Analyze financial information, including:
cost analysis, revenue cash flow, salary/FTE.
**Budgeting and Financial Reporting**
- Preparation of all required schedules and documents for annual audits and handle audit inquiries.
- Support the Executive Director in managing financial matters related to grants.
- Internal and external reporting.
- Provide support to Executive Director with Funders, Ministry representative and / or other stakeholders.
- Responsible for financial and narrative reports for presentation to finance committee of the Board.
- Additional support to the Board of Directors as assigned.
- Support and Manager Insurance and Risk management areas including assessment and accuracy of annual renewals - advising the Executive Director.
- Coordination and support with Administrative areas and Human Resources related to financial matters.
- In consultation with the Executive Director and Board Committee, coordinate the annual budget process (year-end and interim).
- Present financial reports and information to Board Committees as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Compliance**
- Ensures compliance with all financially related legislative requirements, including reporting and remittances such as MIS and SRI reporting.
- Maintain good internal controls and reporting to ensure the integrity of the organization’s financial system.

- Excellent at learning, adopting and coaching staff on new technology/software.
**EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE**
- University Degree;
preferably in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
- Additional financial training and education is an asset.
- Minimum 3-5 years of full-time progressive work experience in an Accounting Management role.
- Experience in the Non-Profit sector.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and including the Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO).
- Experience working with Funders such as the Ministry of Health, City of Toronto.
- Proficient in PC computer environment, MS Office (Word, advanced Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- QuickBooks and other software and accounting systems.
- Experience in working with databases and a CRM environment.
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License (Class G);
access to a reliable vehicle with insurance.

**Compensation**
The hiring range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000.
