Flair Airlines is currently seeking a permanent, full-time **Manager, Retail **to join our growing and ever-changing organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing &
Communications, the Manager, Retail is responsible for driving the performance of Flair’s retail program, including:
- Profit &
Loss (P&
L) ownership and delivery of profit targets
- Working with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver an innovative product portfolio and compelling offers
- Maximizing inflight audience utilizing a technology-led retail platform
- Ensure the operational integrity of all onboard retail programs with a focus on inventory management, pricing, and promotions
- Identify, spearhead and negotiate brand partnerships for advertising, co-operative marketing, and product supply by way of RFP.
- Optimize partner and product offering to become a destination for retail inflight and on-ground
- Manage promotional item procurement, inventory, and catalog
The Manager, Retail can be based either in Vancouver, BC (YVR) or Edmonton, AB (YEG) and some travel will be required.
**Primary Job Functions**:
The duties of the **Manager, Retail **include:
**Key performance measure**:
- Full P&
L and operational responsibility for flair’s retail programming
**Managing Suppliers and External Partners**:
- The key point of contact
- Responsible for execution and management of contracts with suppliers and external partners
- Development of buy onboard plan, including product road map in line with company fundamentals:
better for you, better for the earth.
- Leverage opportunities within the app to bring advertising revenue for new and or new to Flair products
- Regular reviews with external partners to ensure inventory management, revenue, and margin targets are achieved
- POS and branding
- Managing marketing of the retail programs including co-op marketing, customer marketing, social media, on-board and digital
**Setting up for success**:
- Working with the In-Flight management team to develop sales training and skills among the flight attendant group
- Provide and constantly update tool kit to flight attendant group to ensure individual and program success
- Develop a team of “sales champions” among the crew population in each base
**Customer Satisfaction**:
- Conduct regular customer surveys to gain insights into product and service satisfaction
**Safety Duties, Accountabilities, Authorities, and Responsibilities**:
- Report proactive and reactive food safety issues;
- Demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety and actively participate in the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program;
- Conduct assigned tasks and corrective actions;
and
- Encourage active participation in the SMS for all personnel.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:
- Commercially driven with a keen sense of brand and product trend
- Able to effectively manage stakeholders, both internal and external, including project management, contract management, and ensuring crystal-clear alignment and organizational buy-in
- Attention to detail, organized and thorough, with a strong desire for continuous improvement
- Strong ability to influence, negotiate and work effectively
- Ability to handle pressure and meet tight timelines in an environment with a high volume of activity
- A better-for-you mindset with a can-do and positive attitude
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
**Qualification &
Requirements**:
- Minimum of 5 year’s experience in retail management and e-commerce
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered
- Previous procurement, consumer packaged goods, or relevant food industry experience would be considered an asset
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
