Manager, Smart Mining Solutions

At **SMS Equipment, **our **Smart Mining Solutions Manager** is responsible for promoting, leading, developing, and managing the Smart Mining solutions portfolio and supplying direction and support to the site teams and supporting branches to ensure successful after sales customer support. The **Smart Mining Solutions Manager **will stay up to date on emerging technology solutions and market trends to meet customer needs in the emerging mining technology space. This role is based in **Acheson, AB with travel to customer sites as required.**
This position offers a **hybrid **work arrangement.
The salary range for this position is **$130,000 - $150,000.**
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Develop and own the growth strategy to build out the Smart Mining technology portfolio.
- Work with Senior Management to develop a Mining Digital Technology Solution strategy that supports SMS core business and enhances customer value of their equipment fleet.
- Evaluate current products and services opportunities against market trends and customer needs,
- Develop and support the marketing plan and consultative selling model.
- Assist with the development of AHS support and performance management.
- Work with the AHS team on continued development of the remote training center and commercial model.
- Establish commercial models for remote support solutions.
- Define strategy and new technology growth streams.
- Support the Commercialization plan for a contractor AHS training center.
- Key contact for assessing and developing the adoption of new OEM technology initiatives in Mining.
- Work with the Director of Digital Transformation to investigate and perform field trials of new digital solutions.
- Identify skillsets and resources required to support business growth.
- Provide Mentorship and guidance to the corporate and supporting branch teams by identifying skills and training requirements to ensure successful development of in-house mining technology skills and after sales support.
**Qualifications**:
- Sound understanding of leadership, management of operations, mining industry &
maintenance practices.
- Knowledge of equipment and parts distribution.
- Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services and entrepreneurship.
- Ability to set objectives which are realistic but aggressive and communicate a technology strategy to Senior Management.
- Demonstrate strength and competence in impacting and influencing for resources and outcomes and finding “win-win” solutions.
- Ability to mentor a team of technology specialists on customer consultative engagements and best-practice deployment requirements.
- Acquires and retains knowledge/ understanding through study, instruction, or experience.
