Due to continued growth, we are our looking for a Manager, Taxation to manage the tax compliance function for the Company and its investment funds.
**Principal Responsibilities**
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of tax returns and other statutory compliance obligations.
- Manage record and minute books to ensure compliance requirements are met for the Company and its investment funds.
- Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
- Research tax impacts of proposed company activities and transactions
- Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs.
- Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Manage and facilitate tax audits
- Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
- Maintain current knowledge of income and commodity tax legislation.
**General**
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality and environment legislation and standards.
- Carry out additional ad hoc duties as required
**Person Specification**
Knowledge &
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a tax role at a Big Four or National Firm
- Knowledge of tax compliance and all types of tax returns
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Ability to drive process improvements.
**Skills**:
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with finance and tax software
**Qualifications**
- University degree in a related field.
- Canadian CPA designation
- Completion of part 1 of the in-depth tax course.
