Improveexisting asset strategies by working closely with maintenance, planners, and operations on reliability issues and failure trends:
Use risk review approaches, hazard and operability studies, management of change process, and other safety checks to maintain and improve area safety and reliability performance indicators:
Perform periodic system and equipment walk downs to maintain a current awareness of system condition and performance:
Investigate and perform root:
Cause analysis of failures:
Ensure equipment design changes align with the engineering management systems and are evaluated for the impact on equipment reliability;
lead the engineering design of minor plant and equipment modifications:
Develop justifications, technical and efficient evaluations of major equipment changes and projects to be executed:
Use solid engineering and technical knowledge to prepare work scopes and coordinate complex repairs such as equipment overhauling and maintenance projects:
Make continuous improvement recommendations on asset capability, safety, and operability through elimination of bad actors and/or improved equipment or component selection and innovation
Must:
Haves (minimum requirements):
Five years of engineering experience with fixed and rotating equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, pumps, steam andgas turbines:
Multidisciplinary background in engineering, maintenance and operations:
Experience in reliability management tools such as failure mode effect and analysis (FMEA), reliability centered maintenance (RCM), and root cause failure analysis (RCFA):
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering:
Been registered or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA):
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP:
A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record:
