The Niagara Family Health Organization requires a Medical Secretary to act as the focal point of communication for the medical team, with confidentiality being the key issue at all times. The Medical Secretary is responsible for providing a consistently high standard of secretarial and administrative support to the medical staff, and interact with other departments, patients, G.P.'s and specialists. As a member of a high performing healthcare team, the Medical Secretary utilizes knowledge of efficient medical office processes to support the primary care physicians.

- Hours of Work:
Full time (42.5 Hours/week)
**Main Responsibilities/Duties**:
- Assists providers and learners with patients
- Scheduling appointments and communicating with patients on behalf of the physician
- Compile and process all medical information using the Electronic Medical Record
- Data entry
- Operates a variety of office equipment such as but not limited to:
Mac computers, Practice Solutions Electronic Medical Record (Telus PS Suite EMR)
- Performs other duties consistent with the job as required.
**Performance Requirements**:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of general office practices, procedures and standards
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
effectively prioritizing tasks
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary Medical Office Assistant or Medical Administration program with medical terminology
- Experience using TELUS Health EMR a strong asset
- Excellent telephone and strong computer skills
